Agri-Tourism Advisory Council
The ATAC officers are:
Daryl Franklin - President,
Diane Bigham - Vice President,
Karen Franklin - Secretary,
Glynis Racine - Treasurer.
Mission:
The organization shall be known as the Agri-Tourism Advisory Council, or ATAC.
Agritourism is when the public visits a working farm, ranch, winery,
farmers market or an agricultural operation or site for enjoyment,
outdoor recreation, activities, education, shipping, dining or
lodging. These visits generate income for the operators which
help sustain the rural customs and culture and keep and possibly
increase producers on our New Mexico lands. It shall be the
purpose of the ATAC to generate more tourism revenue for the state and
to help New Mexico farmers and ranchers boost their income and preserve
their enterprises and tapping into the emerging market for agri-tourism.
Vision:
Preserving agricultural heritage through tourism.
Goal:
Acquaint Lincoln County tourists and residents to farm fresh produce, products and activities.
Objectives:
1. Sponsor seasonal Farmers Markets.
2. Publish Heritage Trail Guide.
3. Encourage member participation in Lincoln County events.
4. Provide access to a commercial kitchen for small growers.
